Larry Coan Hot Air BalloonLarry Coan Larry Coan is from Livonia, Michigan. He is an engineer for the Ford Motor Company. He is married to his wife Amy and together they have two children, Teri and Robin.

Larry has been involved in hot-air ballooning since 1988 when he took his first ride. The rest is history. He has been a balloon pilot since 2005.

The name of his balloon is "Superfluous", pronounced su·PER-flu·ous, which means being more than is sufficient or required; excessive. This will be his 12th year participating in the Battle Creek Field of Flight.

Larry placed #10 in 2016 and #4 in the 2011 hot-air balloon competition.
